My Top 10 Vegan Travel Experience Tips
Hi everyone, 🙋♀️
In my previous travel blog, I shared My Top 7 Vegan Travel Planning Tips as a planning guide to set you up for a successful trip that aligns with your vegan lifestyle.
In this blog, I'm sharing 10 more awesome tips; this time related to enhancing your experience once you have arrived at your destination. 🌎
As the world continues to reopen after a long pause of over a year, due to the global pandemic, these 10 new tips will certainly improve your travel experience. 🧳
So here we go!
1. 📖 Use this guide to translate that you’re vegan in the local language.
2. 🏨 Tell your hotel/accommodation staff, taxi/Uber/tour driver, etc., that you’re vegan and ask if they have restaurant/cafe recommendations for you.
3. 🎪 Exclude visits to places where animals are held in captivity such as circuses, zoos and aquariums.
4. 🐫 Exclude rides on animals such as camels, elephants, horses and donkeys to avoid contributing to animal cruelty.
5. 🐄 Visit a local animal sanctuary, animal rescue and/or animal conservation to share your travel experience with awesome rescued animals.
6. 🍱 Use the happycow app to find vegan restaurants and restaurants with vegan options.
7. 🍲 Use the abillion app to find local vegan restaurants and businesses.
8. 🥗 If you’re unable to find vegan restaurants nearby, search Google for a juice bar, smoothie or salad bar near you.
9. 👩🍳 If the restaurant does not have vegan options, inform the server that you are vegan and ask if the chef can prepare a vegan meal for you (many chefs are very accommodating and creative).
10. 🍉 Find a local organic supermarket or farmers market, using Google for example, to buy fresh produce, nuts, seeds, etc.
I hope you have found these 10 tips to be useful for your upcoming trips. In future blogs, I'll share more vegan travel tips, so stay tuned! ✈️
