Eating Raw Vegan In Winter

Mindset

When you decide to eat a raw vegan diet, in winter, or any other time of year, it’s helpful to decide WHY you want to eat a raw vegan diet, and then remember your reason(s) front and center whenever you have the urge to say that you feel cold eating raw food, or you miss the sensation or comfort of eating cooked/hot food. 

Mindset is not only key to thriving on a raw vegan diet. Mindset is also key to succeeding and achieving any goal or objective in life. There will always be times when we will feel tempted to drop our goals and take the easy, familiar and comfortable way out. These temptations can appear in many forms, including: 

  • A particularly cold day.

  • A pushy person in your inner circle who disapproves of, or misunderstands, your raw vegan diet.

  • A craving for a particular yummy and familiar comfort dish, etc. 

Of course I am not suggesting that you deprive yourself of your favorite dishes. What I am suggesting is that: 

  1. You enjoy those comfort dishes periodically.

  2. If those comfort dishes cause indigestion, inflammation, or some other reaction, then make the decision to avoid those comfort dishes by keeping our WHY(S) in mind in order to stay on course and to continue to thrive on our high vibrations, high energy and high nutrition raw vegan diet.

  3. Explore other ways of using the same ingredients in your comfort foods in an exciting and yummy raw vegan dish instead. 

Affirmations 

I find affirmations to be extremely powerful in my healthy lifestyle practices. An affirmation is a short statement that allows you to channel control of your thoughts in a powerful manner. When you say or think about affirmations, they have the power to shape and create your reality.

In 2019, I met a raw vegan who said that she repeated an affirmation such as “ I am raw vegan” to motivate her to stay on her raw vegan journey. I found her practice to be super powerful and I highly recommend that you consider adding similar affirmations to your raw vegan journey. For example, some affirmations that you might consider in winter and/or throughout the year, are:

  • I am raw vegan

  • I love being a raw vegan

  • I am thriving as a raw vegan

  • I am warm and cozy as a raw vegan

It can be helpful to repeat affirmations to yourself to motivate you to stay on your raw vegan diet in winter when you find it challenging, particularly on chilly days. 

By making these positive declarations an important part of your daily life, you are helping your mind to elevate and prioritize positivity instead of negativity.

Another nice aspect about affirmations is that we can use them to benefit us across our lives; not only on our raw vegan journey.
