Meditation to Reduce Stress
I went to a Japanese restaurant and when I had finished my vegan meal the server asked me if I had any plans for the rest of the day (which is a common question that some servers ask to be friendly with customers). So I replied that I was going to be doing some meditation online and she said that she used to do it and after a while she stopped. Now during our conversation the server seemed to be missing her days when she meditated online and she said she feels like she wants to get back into it. I told her that it is awesome and there are so many benefits.
Rewind a little bit to the other day when I was in another Japanese restaurant (are you getting the clue yet that I love Japanese food) and I was sitting next to two ladies who were chatting about their lives and one of them expressed how upsetting this year is with the US elections and she was sharing some more about her personal life with her lunch companion.
Now the thing to note here also is that I am not caught up in the election news cycle as I haven’t watched TV in a decade and so I don’t get caught up in the matrix of the news cycle. And it dawned on me that this is indeed a stressful year for many people and I had heard from some others in some groups that I am a part of as well that they were also referencing the news and the election cycle and that they were stressed as well.
The reason I am bringing up this topic of the elections and I am tying it into the topic of meditation that I discussed with the restaurant server is because I can clearly see the benefits of meditation, deep breathing, journaling, chanting, exercising, and so much more, to keep us as humans in a lower stress mode. It’s becoming as clear as day to me that this year in particular between the election stress, the climate stress and the global strife and unrest in various countries, it is more and more important and useful to have a meditation practice.
Based on these recent experiences that I had in observing the stress and duress that people are experiencing these days more than ever perhaps, I want to let you know that my free meditation online sessions are available and you can join them on zoom.
Also, I’m hosting a wonderful retreat in Costa Rica that will include the beautiful practice of meditation, so tap on this link and have a look at the retreat details and see if you want to join us.
That’s it for today. Thanks for joining me. Now, I’m going practice meditation.
Have a beautiful rest of your day wherever you are in the world. Take good care everyone. Bye bye.
Best wishes,
